Job Description:

The highly recognized Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa in Whitefield, NH is actively searching for a detailed and organized Controller to join our team of hospitality professionals.

This position is based on-site in the White Mountains, in Whitefield, New Hampshire.

Located in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is one of America's truly grand hotels. Newly managed by Hay Creek Hotels, the resort offers 141 guest rooms and suites, a first-class spa and wellness center, extensive wine cellar experience, and full-service Harvest Tavern restaurant, all overlooking beautiful Mount Washington and great White Mountains.

On-site resort activities include a well-manicured 9-hole golf course, axe-throwing, archery, disc golf course, extensive hiking and walking trails, indoor and outdoor pools, auditorium, family learning center, and the Mountain View Farm hosting llamas, goats, and a full garden to supply Harvest Tavern’s farm-to-table efforts.

Job Summary:

¨ Responsible for Accounting, Payroll, Insurance & IT functions at Resort Property & other assigned properties.

¨ Manage all accounting functions and staff at decentralized Resort Property

¨ Manage all accounting functions and staff at assigned centralized properties

¨ Independently manages Resort accounting department personnel, including Assistant Controller, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll Support staff to include but not limited to the responsibility of hiring, training, administering performance reviews, determining wages, coaching and discipline, termination, and weekly scheduling.

¨ Coordinate the entire month end close process for the Resort Property and review financials for additional assigned property within the time frames supplied and according to Hay Creek Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts.

¨ Analyze and interpret financial results in order to assist and advise the General Managers and the Hay Creek Corporate Team.

¨ Manage Resort Property balance sheet and Review hotel balance sheets (and financials) and work with staff accountants and property personnel to resolve issues.

¨ Complete/Review cash flow statements and projections for Resort Property and assigned properties.

¨ Banking – Check Signing and Transfers. Reviews and approves all Disbursements.

¨ Manage and maximize working capital.

¨ Work with Staff to insure timely and accurate completion of sales, use and occupancy tax returns as well as any other external reports or returns as deemed necessary.

¨ Working with Corporate Controller and hotel owners, ensure successful treasury cash management process for assigned properties.

¨ Analyzes financial statements

¨ Performs property and financial review sessions as a counterpart of operations with property team and ownership if necessary.

¨ Plans and implements procedures and systems.

¨ Prepares financial analysis of operations.

¨ Creates budgets and financial forecasts.

¨ Ensure compliance with management agreements in the area of financial operations.

¨ Ensure overall payroll processes is in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. Work with all payroll support staff to monitor and regulate the policies and procedures and to ensure the accuracy of each payroll period.

¨ Ensure that all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required by Hay Creek are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances, and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.

¨ For assigned properties, ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured, and that all statuary and fiscal reporting requirements are satisfied, which includes any governmental requirements for permits and licenses.

¨ Ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained to protect the assets of the hotel with particular regard to the requirements contained in the hotel's management contract.

¨ Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotels' assets against loss or misappropriation.

¨ Successfully lead and perform an advisory or interpretive role as well as to recommend controls related to the ethical environment.

¨ Maintains files of all contracts, insurance policies, tax reports, expenses, payroll, etc.

¨ Liaison with ownership in the area of finance.

¨ Monitor compliance with all debt and management agreement covenants.

¨ Oversees preparation of governmental reports and handling inquiries from government agencies, including Internal Revenue Service.

¨ Active in new property development and takeovers with transition team, and due diligence as well as reading and interpretation of documents.

¨ Coordination of external audits and year end workpapers for ownership for assigned properties

¨ Carry out additional assignments as delegated by Corporate Controller and others.
