COMMUNITY LIAISON
5-HOUR (SPLIT-SHIFT)/10-MONTH POSITION

STARTING SALARY: Range 9 - $19.09-$21.07/Hour (Maximum of 2 years credit for work experience in
public school district will be given)

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports site/District administrators in all school and District efforts to improve parent and student

engagement; collaborate with designated Family Engagement Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA).

  • Develops lists of available community resources; actively seeks, creates, and maintains partnerships
with local businesses and community agencies.
  • Connects families to school and community resources; maintains database of community and school
resources.
  • Creates, manages, and schedules school communication efforts, including but not limited to flyers and
messaging through the District website, emails, social media posts, and phone calls.
  • Collaborates in planning, promotion, and execution of events and workshops; guides and encourages
parents to become more involved at their school; generates ideas to increase parent engagement.
  • Drafts and designs materials such as flyers, bulletins, newsletters, and brochures for special events.
  • Attends and provides support for parent advisory committees at school site and at the District.
Examples of committees: District Advisory Council (DAC), District English Learner Advisory Committee
(DELAC), and School Site Council (SSC).
  • Establishes and maintains records of activities, meetings, and prepares necessary reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality within the scope of duties.
  • Attends meetings and conferences as designated by site administrator; some evenings and weekends
will be required for program events.
  • Assists with the volunteering process; seeks, recruits, and organizes parent volunteers; monitors Parent
Center.
  • Assists and supports with distribution of informational materials from school to home.
  • May provide written translations and oral interpretation in designated language for initiatives that aim to
improve parent and student engagement.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
✓ One (1) year of paid or volunteer experience performing varied general office or clerical functions.
✓ Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (must submit copy), including or supplemented by

coursework or training in business practices, automated record management, storage, and retrieval
systems.

Must submit an original, current California Department of Motor Vehicles record check.
✓ Condition of Employment – Insurability by the District’s liability insurance carrier.
✓ Spanish bilingual skills are desired.
