Description

JOB SUMMARY

  • The Store Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their store, within Company policies and procedures, in such a manner to ensure the store contributes to the profitability of the Company. The Store Manager will implement company initiatives, policies, merchandising strategies, and address other business issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations 

  • Is responsible for actively promoting “Walks the Talk” of Minit Stop’s Core Values of Balance, Fun, Honesty, Loyalty, Respect, & Service Excellence.
  • Actively promotes and “Walks the Talk” of Minit Stop’s Fish! Practices of Be There, Play, Make Their Day, and Choose Your Attitude.
  • Responsible for ensuring all employees demonstrate and carry out “World Class Service”, Minit Stop’s Core Values, and Minit Stop’s Fish! Practices.
  • Able to train and coach store staff on the Minit Stop Rewards card and signing up new customers.
  • Able to promote and sign up customers to Minit Stop’s Rewards Card program
  • Evaluate all Secret Shopper reports and customer complaints by providing coaching to store employees involved and provide feedback to management and operations.
  • Oversee all Food Service operations throughout their store and ensure sales are maximized, while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure all operational standards are met and exceeded. Ensure their location meets and exceeds Store Assessment Checklists evaluations.
  • Ensures key processes are in place through store and staff evaluations and data analysis.
  • Participate in store financial review meetings
  • Ensures company initiatives and programs are implemented at store level.
  • Ensures store facilities and equipment meet company image and appearance standards.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction is a priority.
  • Ensures vendors meet expectations by evaluating performance and developing partnerships. 
  • Effectively interacts with all departments to achieve goals. 
  • Performs multiple tasks in fast paced and detail-oriented environment.

Profitability

  • Maximizes store sales by adhering to merchandising programs, providing information and recapping promotional activities.
  • Promotes efficiency to maximize store profitability.
  • Analyzes weekly and monthly reports and provides feedback to District Manager.
  • Manages controllable costs including merchandise/cash variations, salaries, overtime, cash, repair and maintenance.
  • Works with District Manager to meet financial budget and goals.
  • Provides District Manager with feedback regarding areas of opportunity and achievement.

Safety, Training, & Security

  • Utilizes and maintains the store’s safety policies and procedures while implementing a safe and secure working environment, safe work practices, and proper training of employees.
  • Participate in the Minit Stop Safety Committee
  • Responds to all emergencies in the store.
  • Reports and investigates any safety incidents and near-misses, any mismanagement, robberies, thefts, complaints, accidents and all store related events, utilizing other departments as needed.
  • Ensures Employee Accident Procedures, Customer & General Liability Incident Procedures, and E.N.D. procedures are followed and submitted to District Manager.

Supervisory

  • Responsible for the overall safety, direction, coordination, and evaluation of store employees.
  • Evaluates all store employees semi-annually through designated evaluation processes and documentation. Also works with the Store Supervisor—Trainer to evaluate all new hires after 90 days of employment with Minit Stop
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Minit Stop policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for interviewing and training employees.
  • Responsible for assigning, scheduling and directing work of store employees
  • Responsible for appraising store employee’s performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, maintaining harmony among workers and resolving problems.
  • Learns and displays management functions of energizing, empowering, supporting and communicating with all store levels.

Other Duties

  • Complies with all Company’s Rules of Conduct, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Company related training sessions.
  • Compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Company safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Regular attendance. Must be able to work posted work schedule. Qualified absences related to the State and Federal Family Medical Leave Act must be reported to Human Resources.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education:

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role in retail and/or foodservice.
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers. 
  • Ability to read and write, to accurately complete all documentation required.
  • Computer experience necessary to produce required documentation. 
  • Ability to count, add, subtract, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals in order accurately complete documentation. 
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area. 
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. 
  • May be required to update qualifications.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.

  • TB clearance certificate and a current manager’s liquor registration card.
