Title of Position: After-School Program Director
21st Century Community Learning Centers Program
Discovery Club and Access 21
Work Year: Twelve Months
Effective Date of Employment: July 1, 2024
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 Salary commensurate with experience
Organizational Relationship
Or Line of Authority: Director of Title I and Community Engagement and/or
his/her designee.
Statement of Duties:
- Supervise and Coordinate all aspects of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grants and programs
- Responsible for writing, editing, and submitting grant proposals and applications.
- Developing and maintaining a database of grant information, submissions, progress and reporting.
- Manage fiscal requirements of the grant
- Grant writing: Respond to 21st CCLC Request for Proposals as appropriate
- Responsible for all records, record keeping, and enforcement of regulations, required by local, state and federal officials
- Secure supplemental funding if needed to help sustain programs
- Oversee federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) application, related requirements, snack ordering, attendance and snack documentation for reimbursement submission to provide healthy after school snacks for students
- Carry out all MA DESE required evaluations of the programs
- Oversee requests to post positions, screen and interview candidates, recommend to hire, train and supervise staff at multiple sites
- Identification of high-quality instructional curriculum and assessment for programs
- Coordinate and review all timesheets prior to being processed with payroll
- Liaison with building administrators, including HHS CTE and Internship staff
- Oversee recruitment and enrollment of student applicants
- Oversee the maintenance of enrollment and attendance records
- Complete regular site visits to 21st Century after school program sites.
- Monitors and promotes student and staff safety among all participants.
- Lead Advisory Council to include scheduling, agendas and minutes of meetings
- Attend required Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DESE) Coordinator Meetings, Professional Development Workshops, and Regional Meetings
- Recruit and liaison with Community Partners
- Provide regular updates to District Leadership regarding grant activities
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to complete program tasks or attend student performances or presentations outside of regular program hours
- Responsible for other duties as indicated by directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees; and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required – Master’s Degree Preferred
- Bi-linqual Preferred
- Administrative experience in out-of-school time programming, managing many staff at multiple sites
- Experience in 21st CCLC – Preferred
- Experience and Proven success in obtaining grants
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Programs such as Word and Excel, School Messenger, Remind, and Google Programs
- Experience managing budgets of $1,000,000 or more
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
