Position Overview:

The Procurement Assistant is responsible for assisting in the procurement of machined parts through the utilization of subcontractors and with the procurement and timely delivery of company materials and services needed by all areas of the business.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Using ERP and/or manual requisitions, analyzes demand to determine need
• Creating purchase orders based on approved purchase requirements
• Attaining vendor order confirmations and monitoring delivery timeline
• Ensuring timeline and completion of all orders
• Expedites and reschedules as necessary to meet production requirements
• Seeking continuous improvement to reduce inventory cycle times and reduce overall inventory levels.
• Leads and assures materials, tools, supplies and equipment arrive in time to meet customer demands and production schedules.
• Completion & archiving of important documentation, certificates, test reports, surveys
• Other duties assigned, machined part procurement or logistics related

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing or machining environment or supply chain function a plus
• Ability to quickly learn ERP systems
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Self-motivation and initiative
• The ability work and communicate with various disciplines and departments
• Detail oriented
