The Electrical Machine Builder II (or Lead Electrician) works within the Electrical Build Group and is responsible for the assembly of control cabinet panels, subassemblies, products, or systems of high-speed automation equipment. Also responsible for leading projects and working with the Mechanical Lead person to ensure jobs get done on time and correctly.

What You Will Do:

  • Assemble custom machinery that includes panel building and installation of electrical components using electrical schematics, engineering drawings, job specifications and written and verbal instructions.
  • Performs troubleshooting of electrical components, assemblies, wire harnesses, and plugs using a voltmeter to ensure they meet job specifications and Haumiller Standards.
  • Mounts control components, such as control relays, circuit breakers, drives, power supplies on electrical back panels.
  • Proficient in use of hand tools, soldering irons, mechanical and electronic test equipment.
  • Reports to Electrical Build Supervisor in order to accomplish project goals.
  • Exercise good judgment when making decisions in non-routine situations by understanding customer needs, relating factors (Quality, Cost & Delivery) and risk.
  • Project a professional appearance and conduct while on the road and in customer's facilities.

What You Will Bring:

Our ideal candidate will have the following credentials/skills:

  • 4-6 years relevant experience (education/experience or both).
  • Strong electrical background.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Able to provide his/her own basic hand tools.
  • Understand and apply pertinent regulatory and agency standards (NEC).
  • Ability to develop an efficient plan for the construction of machines and sub-assemblies.
  • Understand priorities and provide feedback to Electrical Build Supervisor when dates will not be met or are unrealistic.
  • Fully understand proposed design changes and inform Electrical Build Supervisor if not in agreement with the changes.
  • Understands Departmental Standards and reference drawings.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise information on machine assembly and function problems, and implication of problem to Rework Engineer and Electrical Build Supervisor.
