Summary: The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
2-4 years related experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Serves organization functioning as order fulfillment specialist, placing machine and/or engine product orders in business order uptake system, SAP.
- Submits invoicing, subcontractor agreements to dealers, supports sales organization through sales execution activities.
Typical task breakdown:
- Placing machine or engine orders on factories, managing order portfolios for several contract programs.
Interaction with team:
- Daily interaction with sales, accounting, marketing, logistics, engineering, procurement, and leadership.
Work environment:
Office environment with virtual meeting platforms.
Education & Experience Required:
- High School, GED, college degree (bachelor or associates)
Technical Skills
Excellent writing, speaking and listening skills, computer workstation and software proficiency.
(Desired)
Knowledge of government invoicing, logistics systems and FARs/DFARSs, SAP, Onesource, Blue Yonder system familiarity favorable.
Soft Skills
Customer focused, functions well in a fast-paced team environment, knowledgeable of construction, building, power systems, engines a plus.
