Description

The Lead Designer on our Target team will be responsible for collaborating closely with product development and design teams locally and overseas. This role will be at the forefront of trend, design and innovation.

Responsibilities

Develop and design holiday/seasonal categories.
Build designs from ideation to commercialization resulting in production of a standard and customer specific line.
Research and develop new materials, trims, etc. to deliver innovation.
Produce design ideas, sketches and samples.
Translate product ideas into commercialized product while considering cost implications.
Ensure all deadlines are met in a consistent manner.
Work closely within a collaborative product development team across time zones.

Requirements

6 years of experience in a hands-on Product Designer role, preferably seasonal decor
High attention to detail and a clear understanding of new product design specification for suppliers
Ability to be flexible, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Works well in a collaborative team setting
Must be artistic, creative and can create new designs, characters, icons utilizing conventional and digital files.
Expert knowledge of textile / surface design
Expert in Adobe products, Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, MAC and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently while keeping key parties informed of overall status and opportunities
Excellent presentation skills and has experience interfacing with major retailers

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Fashion or Illustration preferred
