: Deputy Superintendent of Schools and Academic Excellence

: Family Engagement, Community Schools, and Welcome Center Managers/Directors


POSITION SUMMARY
: The Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships and Fund Development holds a pivotal role in driving the growth and sustainability of Hartford Public Schools through strategic partnerships and fundraising initiatives. The Executive Director provides strategic leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive fund development plan to cultivate relationships and secure funding sources to support the district’s vision, strategic plan, and student achievement goals. The Executive Director also leads and manages the Family Engagement, Community Schools, and Welcome Center managers/directors to strengthen student, family, and community connections. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong fund development knowledge, communication skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for driving positive change.


RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Develop and execute an integrated multi-year fund development strategy and plan to sustainably grow revenue from diverse resources (grants, sponsorships, individual donors, fundraising opportunities, etc.)

Cultivate and steward strategic partnerships with corporations, foundations, government agencies, and other organizations aligned with district mission and goals

Collaborate with internal teams to assess partnership opportunities, negotiate agreements, and develop mutually beneficial strategies

Maintain ongoing relationships with partners, ensuring alignment of objectives and maximizing impact

Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support organizational priorities and programs

Lead the creation of compelling funding proposals and donor communications

Work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans for partnership development and fund development

Provide strategic guidance and recommendations based on market trends, funding opportunities, and organizational priorities

Establish systems to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnership and fundraising initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve goals

Manage the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) process for organizations seeking to partner with Hartford Public Schools

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the district to ensure alignment of partnership and fundraising efforts with district objectives

Provide support and accountability for team project timelines and goals

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the strategic partnership and fund development team


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, and ABILITIES of IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Master's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in fund and partnership development or related roles
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate a compelling case for support to a variety of affected parties
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and prior experience leading and motivating teams to achieve goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, prospect research, and grant writing techniques
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse partners, including corporate collaborators, donors, and community leaders
  • Ability to compellingly convey the district’s vision, priorities, and financial needs
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Hartford Public Schools with a passion for driving equitable outcomes for all students
  • Multilingual capacity (English/Spanish) preferred

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
: This is a twelve-month position. Salary will be commensurate with education level and experience. Salary range is $140,000 - $170,000.
