Harris County is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in local government operations. The goal of this internship is to give prospective public administrators real experience in county government administration and research. Throughout the internship, interns will primarily work with the Harris County Office of Management and Budget team on a project for the county that will be used to inform future budget office projects and provide baseline information and comparisons across different counties and departments. The intern will be able to take away some research and writing projects, as well as a greater knowledge of how County government works. The project does have a set framework, but there is room for further research on the intern's areas of interest. The primary focus will be working within the department and key stakeholders to identify the relevant policies and procedures into a central repository and perform entry level administrative duties as needed.
