Through its core values of innovation, engagement, and health equity, HCPH strives to bring meaningful solutions to public health issues while keeping Harris County healthy and vibrant.**** This is Grant Funded Position****Position Overview:Under the supervision of the Lead Poisoning Prevention (LPP) Program Manager, the Community Health Educator will support the outreach and education initiatives provided by the program. The Community Health Educator is responsible for developing and implementing primary and secondary prevention strategies to reduce lead exposure and prevent lead poisoning. This position will work with community partners, stakeholders, and residents within Harris County to increase lead awareness with a focus on community-based approaches.Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones for the promotion of blood lead testing and the prevention of lead poisoning in Harris County.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Six (6) months of experience working in community engagement, public health, health clinic, or related field.
Licensure/Certifications:
Valid TX Driver’s License
