Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental assisting, infection control, and love to work as a team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, maintaining a clean and sterile environment, and ensuring patient comfort.

Duties:

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry

- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and preparing the chart notes

- Take and develop dental X-rays

- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns

- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring patient comfort

- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions

- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation

- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff

- Manage dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program

- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar practice management software

- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials

- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health records systems

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
