Harper & Sons, Inc is seeking a talented, team-oriented Project Manager who is eager to take on challenging projects, embrace new technologies, and be a part of a great company that is growing!
Harper & Sons, Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned and operated, energetic commercial construction company which performs projects for a variety of private and governmental clients, primarily located on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Qualifications: Minimum (5) years experience in Construction (field or management); associates degree at minimum (preference given for engineering or construction management degrees); proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of construction scheduling is necessary; must have skills necessary to read and comprehend drawings and specifications. Preference is given for commercial renovation experience and construction scheduling software experience. Applicants should possess excellent time-management skills, be energetic, self-motivated, and able to work without direct oversight. The applicant must have the ability to anticipate construction challenges, and possess the ability to identify problems and solutions. The applicant must take initiative expedite the project management process, with quality and safety as priorities!
Responsibilities include: Pre-construction activities; Reviewing and analyzing drawings and specifications; Material take-offs and purchasing; Determining labor needs for carpentry tasks performed by in-house staff; Writing and reviewing Subcontractor scopes; Subcontractor/vendor negotiations; Shop Drawing and Product Submittal review; ; scheduling; construction document administration; conducting and attending progress meetings; preparing change orders and project completion documents; directing and coordinating with the project superintendent; communicating with and professionally representing the firm to the project owner at all times; and handling the other duties typical to general contracting and construction management.
A clean driving record, back-ground check, and random drug-testing are required.
