Position Summary:
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Professional Services directs and oversees customer facing professional services encompassing program/project management and implementation services. The role will ensure programs and projects meet organizational goals and strategies. Assumes the overarching responsibility for supporting organization and leadership in their efforts at overseeing, managing and leveraging the entire life cycle of initiatives to optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives including integration of strategic and annual planning activities. The AVP of Professional Services oversees the project management process including governance, team leadership, monitoring, prioritization, communication, escalation, and quality controls. Develop, implement, and govern program management processes, dashboards, templates, policies, and metrics.
This position will work closely cross functionally with Sales, Solution Engineering, Data Integration, Product Management and Development, and Client Experience to define and implement standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives. The AVP of Professional Services will be responsible for driving the customer handoff from Sales to ensure a seamless, on-time, on-budget, with high quality results.
Performance Metrics:
Customer Satisfaction: Achieve 95% or higher Customer Satisfaction Rating (CSAT) across all projects for the year.
Revenue Recognition: Ensure timely completion of implementation milestones to achieve annual revenue targets for the year.
Project Management Efficiency: Reduce average project duration by 5% compared to the previous year.
Onboarding Effectiveness: Achieve a 90% retention rate for new team members within the first six months.
Strategic Contribution: Successfully influence product management, quality assurance, cross functional team process improvement through measurable contributions to OKRs and KPIs.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Customer Leadership:
    • Act as executive sponsor and escalation point for key enterprise customers.
    • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, achieving a 95% or higher client satisfaction rating.
    • Drive seamless customer handoff from Sales, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality implementations.
    • Define and manage customer risk, developing effective mitigation and escalation strategies.
  • Project Management Excellence:
    • Oversee the entire project management process, including governance, team leadership, monitoring, prioritization, communication, escalation, and quality controls.
    • Develop and implement program management processes, dashboards, templates, policies, and metrics to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Monitor and track project milestones and deliverables against customer expectations and delivery dates.
    • Ensure team resources are properly allocated and on track to achieve project milestones.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Sales, Solution Engineering, Data Integration, Product Management, and Client Experience to define and implement standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Participate actively in relevant meetings and committees as a Functional Manager.
    • Provide constructive feedback to project managers and implementation teams for at-risk projects.
  • Leadership and Development:
    • Collaborate and define standard operating procedures for professional services for the project management and implementation teams
    • Define and assist in the onboarding of new team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Perform regular portfolio reviews with executive management, providing comprehensive insights and recommendations.
    • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Acts as executive sponsor and escalation point for enterprise customers
  • Builds customer relationships/satisfaction
  • Participates as a Functional Manager on all applicable meetings and/or committees
  • Performs continuous and month-end reconciliation to optimize customer implementation milestone completion driving revenue recognition
  • Builds processes, adheres to a plan, and collaborates with others
  • Develops and maintains implementation schedules, coordinates internal team meetings, prepares and/or edits meeting minutes/presentations/deliverables
  • Ensures adherence to deadlines in Clarizen
  • Defines customer risk, develops mitigation and escalation strategies to provide remedy

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of Professional Services experience
  • Experience with CRM software, Planview Adaptive Work preferred

Physical Requirements:
