SUMMARY / SCOPE :

The primary responsibilityof this position is to assist in the management of the men’s basketball programincluding assisting with on court coaching, recruitment of qualifiedprospective student-athletes, travel planning, scouting opponents, academic supervision,film exchange, fundraising efforts, community outreach projects, team promotionand other daily projects as assigned by the Head Coach.

HSU is a member of NCAADivision III and the American Southwest Conference. This is a full-time staffposition.

HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING :

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Coaching On court practice and game assistance

Recruiting Telephone calls, attendance at tournaments and games as wellas letters and written correspondence to potential student athletes / planningand executing campus visits for recruits

Travel Planning Arranging lodging, buses, meals and practice times atopponent sites

Prepare scouting reports

Assist with camps and clinics

Organize community outreach projects

Assist with fundraising efforts

Academic Supervision Study Hall, grade andattendance reports

Film Exchange online according to rules of the American SouthwestConference

Oversee laundry operation

Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

Prior basketball coaching or playing experience at the high school and / or college levelis required.

Prior recruiting experience with evaluation,relationship building, and recruitment of student-athletes is required.

Must have proficient computer skills, strong workethic and effective communication skills.

Must also have excellent organizational skills ascandidates will be required to provide examples of their ability to plan andorganize.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certificationsrequired (or must be obtained).
