QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Experience)
Mandatory-High school diploma minimum.
Knowledge of district data reporting with 5 years data reporting experience. Knowledge of Infinite Campus or other student information systems and how they work.
Demonstrate accountability and effective decision making
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Hands on experience in operating spreadsheets and word documents
Work independently and seek answers outside of district resources
Attention to detail and timelines / due dates
JOB SHORT DESCRIPTION: Responsible for analyzing, entering, uploading data to appropriate entities. Responsible for filing district state & federal reports in a timely manner. Responsible for high level support for the Marss Secretaries. Responsible for knowing how to use our student information system and being the local expert in that system.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Generally a 237 day work year agreement (non-aligned contract). District Data Specialist Job Duties:
Collects, verifies and inputs student information required to ensure that the MARSS and Ed-Fi
database is complete and that all students are accurately accounted for and reported to the
State and Federal agencies to receive appropriate funding revenue.
Serves as team leader in conversion from MARSS to Ed-Fi. Attends MDE and Infinite Campus sponsored Ed-Fi
training and webinars and student software vendor training and meetings. Instruct building
level administrative assistants on Ed-Fi processes including data input.
Establish and provide process procedures and instructions for district staff on how to create, retrieve
and print various reports from the student database.
Troubleshoots problem areas of the student system. Performs an annual system update.
Maintains the database so that District staff has accurate testing information and reports on current and new District students.
Provide accurate statistical data as needed for determining student growth, staffing, and
boundary considerations.
Maintains the database so that schools, students, and District families have current and
accurate information.
Manages staff, student, and family access to appropriate components of the student information
system.
Facilitates connection between the student information system and other district data systems.
Upload information from various departments and assist with verification of data including but
not limited to transportation and food service reporting.
Perform Infinite Campus calendar set up, annual roll-forward, enrollment projections and Kindergarten Round up data preparation.
Confirm and support the upload of EE, DIRS, MCCC and Civil Rights data.
Entry and accurate reporting of all ESY and ECSE student data
