HSU CHRISTIAN STANDARD REQUIREMENT FOR EMPLOYMENT:

Candidate must profess a Christian Faith, maintain membership in a local congregation, and respect the values and distinctives central to the historically Baptist values of HSU as reflected in the University’s Statement of Faith.

SUMMARY/SCOPE:

The Career Advisor will be responsible for providing students with career counseling support as they progress through their degree programs, developing career exploration instruments and tools for students, and providing data and training to academic advisors regarding career opportunities for graduates of their programs.

The Career Advisor is also expected to maintain contact with HR offices and hiring managers of Big Country Chambers of Commerce members, DFW businesses, and Midland/Odessa businesses; to manage and promote the usage of Handshake; to arrange, manage and coordinate hiring managers coming to campus to interview students; to guide students in career choices and employer matches.
