Job description
We are hiring an experienced Mechanical Estimator-Must be proficient with estimating software programs with a minimum of 5 years in a commercial/industrial mechanical setting estimating large projects.
Job Scope:
- Complete the estimating checklist & coordinate with the senior estimator to schedule the bid review
- Perform take-offs, build a material-quantities-labor estimate, export materials & Create Job Estimate from FastPipe into MS Excel to send subcontractors and vendors
- Collaborating with superior staff and with the Senior Estimator to ensure all prequalification documents, RFI deadlines, etc. are reviewed and completed
- Send material, equipment, fixture, etc., lists to vendors
- Create preliminary budget & assist in managing the bid calendar to ensure deadlines are met
- Identify potential value engineering opportunities during the bid process & secure adequate subcontractor pricing coverage for all pertinent trades (at least 3 prices) •
- Review written/online contract documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to estimate time, material, and labor for projects
- Attend project hand-off and close-out meeting with COO, VP, Project Management, Superintendent, Quality Control Manager and Safety Manger
- Upon request of the VP, prepare special reports through collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends • Review historical cost record for use in future estimates
Requirements:
- Proficiently work in multiple software/internet based programs such as FastPipe and similar products
- 5 year minimum experience working in Commercial/Industrial/Mechanical settings
- Written and Verbal communication skills is a must
- Projects are located throughout the SE including GA, SC, AL, TN, and FL areas, some day trips are required on occasion.
Salary is up to $90K with a competitive benefit package.
