Hard Rock Concrete Cutters, Inc. is Hiring a Dispatcher Near Wheeling, IL

Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The basic function of the Dispatcher is to provide the necessary supervision to effectively estimate, schedule, assign, direct, and control the fulfilling of job orders obtained by Hard Rock including any related data entry.

Responsibilities

  • The responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to the following:
  • Controls the timely scheduling of work in accordance with personnel/equipment availability and customer requirements.
  • Ensures that all job tickets are signed and accurately turned in on a timely basis and necessary input for billing is completed.
  • Controls distribution and receiving of equipment and diamond stock under the direction of the Sales Manager, Superintendent and/or Field Manager.
  • Keeps the Sales Manager, Superintendent and/or Field Manager informed daily on the status of jobs.
  • Establishes and maintains effective procedures for gathering and analyzing information pertinent to contract/project management.
  • Reads and evaluates project correspondence written and electronic.
  • Cost/expensecontrol of the project and monitoring of such through verbal/written reports, shared with the Field Manager.
  • Responsible for the timely planning for staffing, equipment, tools and materials necessary to meet project obligations. Including rental equipment deliveries & returns.
  • Monitor process of change order issuance. Recommend to the Operations Manager and V.P. of Sales the appropriate strategies to obtain the requested change orders.
  • Prepare and present reports as required to management.
  • Sees that safety regulations are followed and maintained. Ensures that field operations are done in a safe and effective manner.
  • Prepares all reports required by the Sales Manager, Superintendent and/or Field Manager.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, established procedures and the directives of the Field Manager to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Support and advise the Field Manager on all operational concerns.
  • Provide necessary reports on a daily, weekly or other timely basis that will be used by all departments to assist in the profitable operation of the company.
  • Attend meetings as directed by the Field Manager.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Field Manager, Sales Manager or President.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Required: Three or more years of experience as a dispatcher, concrete cutting and drilling professional, and/or customer service representative utilizing computer data entry and phone skills.
  • Preferred: Five or more years of experience as a Dispatcher in the construction/concrete industry.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate with field and project management staff in a professional and respectful manner and to keep confidential information confidential at all times.
  • Ability to perform the phone sales tasks of Sales / Project Manager when required.
  • Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a concrete cutting & drilling business.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively run multiple projects in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively enter job and dispatch data into computer system.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Proficient computer data entry and software skills, including Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Professional level courses in supervision, dispatching and construction/concrete management are preferred
  • A valid Driver’s License is required
