HARCROS CHEMICALS is Hiring a Chemical operator Near Dalton, GA

Chemical Operator SUMMARY This is an entry-level night-shift position. This person will Load, unload, move materials and fill containers within plant by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Job duties may vary based on business needs but may result in generating, handling, and / or inspection of hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.

This can include responding or managing hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the sites emergency action or contingency plan.

These duties include preparing and managing hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.

  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Uses forklift truck to load and unload materials onto or from trucks.
  • Loads and unloads tank trucks and railcars.
  • Fills drums, totes, and pails. Responsible for mix / blending and packaging of chemicals both hazardous and non-hazardous in compliance with current environmental standards and regulations.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience;

and one to three months related experience and / or training. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Ability to operate forklift truck and other mechanical equipment.
