HARAMBE SOCIAL SERVICES is Hiring a Counselor/Case Manager Near Sicklerville, NJ

Harambe Social Services is looking for a compassionate and skillful therapist and advocate to serve adults and youth in our therapeutic and victim services programs through use of creative arts therapy and culturally specific therapeutic modalities. The candidate will be responsible for helping survivors gain access to the services they need while allowing them to feel safe and supported. Additionally, the candidate will facilitate a survivor support group and provide educational workshops about healthy relationships. The support group and workshops are designed to foster a sense of community and provide essential education to survivors.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous therapeutic treatment to adult and youth clients (flexible schedule).
  • Conduct assessments and intakes
  • Create individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
  • Assist with the daily operations of a therapeutic program.
  • Support the weekly survivor support group and conduct healthy relationship/ teen dating violence prevention workshops a few times a year.
  • Conduct wellness calls and respond to crisis calls.
  • Provide case management to a small group of clients. Assist clients with check-ins and check-outs at emergency safe housing locations.
  • Refer survivors to other agencies and resources as needed to obtain necessary services.
  • Maintain service partnerships with referral agencies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and statewide meetings/trainings as assigned.
  • Support outreach efforts to raise awareness about the agency's programs and services. (may include some weekend and evening hours with advance notice)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • License to practice in New Jersey e.g., LCSW, LCPC is preferred.
  • Experience providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services.
  • Experience of 2-5 years in a clinical setting and providing case management to survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence.
  • Experience working with youth and adults of varied sexual orientation and gender identities, racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Creative arts background is a plus.
  • Criminal and child abuse background checks will be required.

Training Requirements: 40/60 hours of domestic violence and/or sexual assault training. Five hours paid training related to LGBTQI community provided by the agency.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Hours: Full-time. Agency hours are Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5 pm (some weekends and evening therapy sessions as agreed upon by candidate and client are required )
