Description: Parties are our biggest money maker, and require some dedicated time and attention! Tasks include but are not limited to: brainstorming new party options and add-ons, managing party bookings, answering party questions, replying to party emails, confirming party head counts, assigning party hosts, ensuring parties are adhering to rules laid out in party contracts, shopping for decor/supplies, maintaining customer relationships, ordering bakery goods, and anything else required for parties. You will be managing parties onsite to ensure the best customer experience.

There is also the opportunity to stretch your creativity by creating and planning other big events and parties such as Halloween Party, Santa visit, Brunch with the Easter Bunny, Noon Year’s Eve, etc. We are looking to expand our event offerings and increasing attendance at these events to encourage new customers, supplement ticket sales, and make use of the building/space during off peak days/hours. Ideally 1-2 events per month would happen outside normal weekday hours.

Ideal Candidate: Someone who loves children and planning birthday parties. Must work well with teenagers and other staff. Has a pleasant customer persona and loves chatting with the public. Should be creative but thrifty. Some computer skills are required, but nothing too complicated (Gmail, Canva, Google groups, Slack, and our booking software).

Candidate must be willing to learn through videos/tutorials how to: face paint, make balloon animals, and make various types of balloon decor. This is mostly to train teenage staff, but also to be able to fill in if there is a call-off. An ideal candidate will be able to take a generic birthday theme and make the decor appealing and cost effective.

After the 30 day training period, candidates should be able to manage the party side of the business alone. This may include everything from Sam’s club runs to mopping floors. This means you will need to be a self-starter and be able to manage your time and tasks throughout the week for a successful weekend of parties.

Additional Information:

Candidate should have experience de-escalating customer outbursts and incidents. We meet people on happy days, but they are also very stressful for parents and grandparents which means tensions can run high through no fault of ours.

Business to Business experience is encouraged for this position. We are looking to create relationships with food service companies, bakeries, and other related businesses to encourage cooperation, expand revenues, and offer opportunities to other local small businesses.

The ideal candidate will be unwaveringly punctual. Party timing depends on reliably showing up on time in order to prep for parties, let in employees, and complete party prep.

This position works best for someone that wants to be home/available during the weekdays and has availability on the weekends with reliable transportation and childcare. Although we are a children’s play place, it’s impossible to focus fully on the job with your own children running around. Employee children are welcome to play for free with another supervising adult, attend events for free, and can receive discounted birthday parties.
