Position Summary:

Maintain Hansen's IGA's "hometown proud" image by providing excellent customer service while accurately completing transactions on a register and bagging customers groceries conscientiously. Responsible for service counter functions such as lottery, cigarettes and movies. Responsible for stocking and cleaning.

Job Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service to our number one asset: our customers
• Help customers find merchandise and answer customer's questions
• Accurately total customers merchandise at checkout and, using a cash register, complete transactions by accepting customer's form of payment
• Follow procedures regarding the sale of alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets
• Handle grocery items properly and use correct methods of bagging
• Professionally handle customer concerns and complaints
• Use proper phone etiquette when using the intercom
• Stock and face shelves when needed
• Clean counter and register area as needed, including but not limited to: sweeping, dusting, cleaning belts/lane, etc.
• Complete any additional duties as they are assigned
• Desired Candidate:
• Prior cash handling experience is preferred
• Strong detail orientation skills
• Positive and friendly attitude with a teamwork mentality
• Must be able to multitask and work in fast paced environment
• Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly, 30 pounds occasionally
• Stand for the extent of a shift

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $8.00 - $12.00 per hour
