Hansel & Gretel Early Learning Center on Walnut Street is seeking a full-time teacher for our Toddler classroom.
The ideal candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the general supervision and management of 4 - 6 toddlers. This person will be a friendly, energetic, team-orientated person and have a passion to educate and care for young children as well as be able to communicate in a professional manner with families. Candidates are expected to abide by the policies stated in the staff handbook and meet the requirements as stated in the PA DHS Licensing Regulations and Keystone STARS requirements.
Children in this age group are typically learning basic social skills and developing their familiarity with language.
Applicants must be able to lead a classroom and work well with co-teachers.
The Toddler teacher shall be responsible for and/or assist with:
· Work with assigned group of children applying best practices for infant/toddler care.
· Facilitate and nurture the development of each child.
· Respond quickly to children’s different and personal needs (verbal and non-verbal cues), temperament styles, abilities, and cultures.
· Document daily individual needs, strengths, interests, attendance, and meal counts for each child.
· Plan and implement lesson plan activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate.
· Prepare the learning environment for children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adult caregivers.
· Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, parent meetings, parent-caregiver conferences and other duties as assigned.
· Toddler teachers exercise compassion and empathy while interacting with children and their parents, supporting a safe, healthy learning environment for all children
· Toddler teachers regularly communicate with parents, whether to provide day-to-day reports on classroom activities or to report on a child’s development.
· Toddler teachers closely monitor and keep extensive records of students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development. This can involve regular, daily observations, as well as periodic assessments to measure each student’s mastery of life skills and attainment of educational goals.
Candidate must be flexible, interested in long term professional development, and communicate effectively.
