Director-Center for Learning and Belonging at Achieving True Self- Irwin, PA. The Center for Learning and Belonging is seeking a Day Care Director who wants to make a big impact in the lives of young children we are proud to care for each and every day.

The Director of the Center of Learning and Belonging is responsible for the effective functioning of the daycare facility, as well as staff.

This position will be responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for children and maintaining the safety of the facility for children’s use.

The Director of the Center of Learning and Belonging immediately reports any concerns to the children’s parents and guardians if any should arise.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of the Center for Learning and Belonging? Plans and develops daily program activities.

Hires and trains new daycare staff. Assists and coordinates the activities and duties of all daycare staff including group supervisor, assistant group supervisors, and daycare aides.

Assists with maintaining the well-being of children under their care. Ensures the daycare facility is safe and well maintained including checking safety equipment, removing hazards, and ensures facility is always clean and orderly.

Markets and promotes awareness of the facility and available services. Meets with parents and staff to discuss and learning or behavior issues.

Maintains general responsibility for the facility. Administers facility finances, personnel, maintenance, meal planning and preparation.

Manages programs facilities and objectives. Designates duties and responsibilities to staff in directors’ absence. Performs written evaluations of staff.

Attends and participates in daily / weekly / monthly team meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Center of Learning and Belonging.

What are the qualifications needed for a Director? A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field and 1 year of experience working with children.

A Bachelor’s degree with 30 credits from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field and 2 year of experience with children.

An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field and 3 years of experience with children.

An Associate’s degree with 30 credits from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field with 4 years of experience with children.

Strong ability to multi-task and problem-solve. Good organization, communication, and attention to detail. Positive, friendly attitude.
