JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Underwriter - C&I is responsible for underwriting commercial loans, inclusive of C&I and real estate loans while ensuring compliance with appropriate company credit policies and procedures. This person will analyze the character, collateral, cash flow, capital, and conditions of every credit request and make an informed and objective credit decision.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Examine overall loan documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Meet with potential borrowers to determine credit needs and develop an appropriate loan structure that meets the needs of the borrower and the bank's requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums that provide a rationale, opinions, and in-depth analysis of new credit requests.
• Understanding of different industries throughout the Long Island business marketplace including analysis of contractors.
• Perform cash flow assessments on all commercial loans annually to ensure ample debt service coverage and appropriate risk rating classifications.
• Stay abreast of any changes in loan underwriting policy and procedural changes.
• Effectively communicate with clients on underwriting issues or the need for additional data directly to secure additional credit information to process the new credit transaction.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures. 

 PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The position requires a person with excellent communication skills for both coworkers and customer contact, the ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet tight deadlines.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of underwriting or commercial lending experience is preferred.

Salary: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00
