Hannibal Regional Hospital is Hiring a Hospice volunteer Near Kirksville, MO

Responsible for all aspects of the volunteer program to coordinate volunteer services to the patient and family according to individual needs.

Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision and retention of volunteers.

Coordinate and participate in the development of public relations and referral development activities in support of the hospice.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable or willingness to learn the hospice concept philosophy of care
  • Demonstrate good skill with oral and written communications
  • Able to maintain good working relationships with professionals and volunteers
  • Be able to collaborate effectively with community leaders. agencies, referral sources and groups
  • Possess ability to execute a supportive and sensitive approach to volunteer and patient / family needs.
  • Ability to meet with referral sources, potential patients and families to educate regarding hospice philosophy of care.
  • Experience in healthcare marketing / communications preferred.
  • Possess business knowledge, customer service skills, and be able to multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power-Point) required
  • Required problem solving skills include the ability to actively listen, use logic to identify strengths, weaknesses and solutions.
  • Understanding of fundraising techniques and systems, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Ability to organize work and handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Travel is required; must provide own reliable transportation.
  • Clean driving record required
