Job Duties/Scope Of WorkJOB SUMMARY:
The Training Specialist's job duties include the design, development, and facilitation of training. Additionally, this position will be responsible for peer reviewing and assisting program managers in a number of safety and health training areas including, but not limited to: Electrical Safety, Lock out /Tag out, Fire Watch, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging, Confined Space, and Nuclear Chemical Operator Fundamentals.
This position will require an understanding of all phases of training development (e.g. Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).
Specific job duties of this position include:
- Presents training programs and curriculum using various forms and formats including TEAMS, classroom, and computer-based training.
- Use experience, education and professional judgement to ensure that training materials are aligned with standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to improve the overall training/competency process.
- Responsible for training instructional system design, development, and implementation.
- Performs evaluations of current organization training systems and materials to identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
- Maintains responsibility for the development, revision, and maintenance of training products.
- Performs other related tasks as required in training activities.
- Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, and communication assessment findings with Supervisors, Managers and employees.
- Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
- Creates and maintains training procedures, guides, and course materials.
- Maintains records of training and development activities.
- Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications* Bachelor's degree - OR - an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of experience in training development.
- Understanding and detailed knowledge of the systematic approach to training.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of all phases of ADDIE used in the development/delivery of training.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desired Qualifications* Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Past instructional experience.
- Prior work experience in training development in and industrial setting.
- Experience in the facilitation of meetings and group activities.
- Prior work experience editing and revising training products developed by peers.
