Hampton Inn & Suites is Hiring a Hotel Night Auditor Near North Attleboro, MA

POSITION SUMMARY This position is for a hotel night auditor working the overnight shift. The assigned hours are 11pm-7am. During overnight shifts, this individual is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work. Responsible for the front desk operation during the overnight shift and acting as night-time MOD. Should an employee come on as a full-time night auditor - then employment benefits will be available after 90 days.

Primary responsibilities include: registering guests, making reservations, preparing daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security walks. The Night Auditor performs the duties of a Front Desk Agent ( Process guest check-ins and room assignments following the hotel’s rate structures, discounts and sell/upsell strategies. Answer the telephone and transfer callers. Answer inquiries about hotel services, in-house events/amenities, directions, local attractions, etc. Assist guests with transportation arrangement needs.  If necessary, walk guests in a professional and courteous manner and in compliance with policies, procedures and brand stands.  Manage online and telephone reservations. Take same day and future reservations. Cancel room reservations according to policies and procedures.  Handle and resolve guest complaints.) Ensure release of any Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.  Take and place wake-up calls, as needed. Accommodate special requests when possible.  Process check-in/check-out and collect payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card processing and accounting policies and procedures. and completes, balances and files night audit reports on the various areas of the hotel to provide accurate, timely information in accordance with cash handling, credit card processing and accounting policies and procedures. Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management. Reports any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Approach all encounters with guests, team members, outside callers and vendors in a service oriented manner.  Audit, balance, post and report on food and beverage charges to ensure accuracy and proper cash handling procedures are followed.  Audit, balance, post and report on the room charges including phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, server’s and/or desk agents paperwork, over/short figures to ensure accuracy and proper cash handling procedures are followed.  Complete, balance and file night audit reports including over/short figures, deposits, counts, house charges, and promotional materials.  Initiate and complete the End of Day process.  Run all reports as required for Food and Beverage audit.  Complete the Night Audit checklist during each shift.  Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports.  Perform the duties of a Front Desk Agent, Bellman, Housekeeping and general maintenance during the overnight hours.  Use suggestive selling skills and company sales programs to maximize revenue and occupancy levels.  Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.  Answer the telephone and transfer callers.  Ensure periodic checks to ensure areas that are required to be locked are locked and secured. (property specific)  Have a working knowledge of security procedures.  Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to the standard.  Follow up to ensure that nightly walk-through includes straightening of pool and Jacuzzi area (property specific)  Complete any miscellaneous duties as required (i.e., resetting Food and Beverage P.O.S. where necessary, distribution of credit "Watch List", and preparation of daily revenue summary)  On time and at work when scheduled and in proper uniform.  Attend department meetings as scheduled.  Consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests, vendors and associates.  Comply with policies and procedures. Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures. Write shift reports including reports on any incidents of theft, accidents or injuries when assigned. Check with manager / supervisor before leaving work area for any reason.  Any other tasks / duties as requested by management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Hours Required: The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.

QUALIFICATIONS The Company may consider equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school education or equivalent experience. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Must be able to problem solve and troubleshoot in order to resolve guest issues that may arise and respond to emergency situations. Hotel front desk and/or accounting background and familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: To be successful in this role, you need basic English communication skills, the ability to speak, listen, write and identify distress signs Ability to complete Front Desk Agent duties and process night audit in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Ability to timely compile facts/figures, identify and investigate issues and resolve basic matters. Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures. Ability to operate a computer, calculator, phone and other office equipment. Attention to details with good organizational and efficient time management skills. Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient. Ability to satisfy the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction. CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside. Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment. While performing job duties, the associate speaks, follows direction; frequently communicates with guests and team members, completes documents, processes requests and operates office equipment such as a telephone, calculator, computer, copier, printers and fax. Physical requirements include ability to remain in a stationary position most of shift, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The job requires close vision with or without corrective lenses. This position may be required to operate a motor vehicle.
