Labor Category: Salary Exempt

Position Type: Full Time

Pay:  $105,000.00 - 120,000.00 DOE

SCOPE OF WORK

Under general supervisionof the Regional Director of Operations, the GeneralManager position is in charge of all daily hotel operations to guarantee thatguests enjoy an outstanding experience. This position is responsible for all hotelservices, such as guest relations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance,revenue management, expense management, team building, and employeedevelopment. Additionally, this role is responsible to motivate, coach anddevelop their staff; actively participate in creating and implement theannual Business Plan; monitor and ensure outstanding operating results;and participate in developing and managing revenue and sales strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that assigned hotel is maximizingthe Guest and Associate experience.
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliancewith A&Rs hotel operating policies and procedures(Operations Manual).
  • Motivate, coach and train team members atassigned property, set goals, and hold team members accountable, and provideappropriate feedback, rewards, and recognition.
  • Be effectively accountable for managingand motivating associates and achieving overall financial results, and guestand associate satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper, appropriate, and timelyoperations reporting and record keeping both at the hotel and to the corporateoffice.
  • Ensure development, implementation andsupport successful attainment of assigned hotel’s annual Business Plan.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity,take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promotecollaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensuredevelopment of, and adherence to, A&R’s hotel operations policies,protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Active participation with the corporateteam leaders in the development and creation of the annual Business Plan forassigned hotel.
  • Ensure implementation of A&R’sapproved Business Plan for assigned hotel.
  • Ensure Operations within A&R’sapproved budget for assigned hotel.
  • Monitor operating results and compareoutcomes with budgets, other competitor hotelsperformances and with industry averages.
  • Motivate, coach and train assigned Teammembers, set goals, hold team members accountable, and provide appropriatefeedback, rewards, and recognition.
  • GMs will be responsible for all cash andmonetary instruments that are held and/or received on property.
  • Be a Brand Ambassador of A&R’sCulture, Mission, and Values.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieveproject goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workenvironment.
  • Consistently strive for improvement inboth team and self.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Send a weekly activity and accomplishmentrecap via email to the A&R RDO.
  • Read daily Emails from A&Rs corporate members, brand representatives andclientele and respond as appropriate.
  • Conduct private personal meetings with eachteam member on a monthly basis to review team member goals, daily activitiesand performance outcomes.
  • Facilitate and participate in monthly meetingswith Department leaders and Corporate members to review operations outcomes,progress and accountability.
  • Inspect assigned hotel for A&R and BrandQuality Assurance standards.
  • Track A&Rs performance standards for assigned hotel.Performance standards include:
  • Brand & A&R Quality Assurance
  • Market Share Indices (MSI)
  • Net Operating Income (NOI)
  • Record keeping and reporting
  • Supplies storage, ordering and PAR maintenanceprotocols
  • Brand & A&R Guest Satisfaction Indices(GSI)
  • A&R Associate Satisfaction Index (ASI)
  • Conduct regular and timely performance reviewsof Team members.

Performance standards:

Performance shall be measured by achievementof the assigned A&R managed hotels’ business plans, budgeted NOI, MSIIndex, Guest Satisfaction Index (GSI) and the Associate Satisfaction Index(ASI).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related fieldof study preferred.
  • Hilton GM Certification
  • Minimum of three years of hotel industry operationsexperience.
  • Minimum of one year of General Manager supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Highly energetic and motivated individual.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strongcustomer/client focus essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position will require longperiods of standing on hard surfaces, occasionally in warm temperatures.
  • Extensive lifting of supplies andmaterials and moderate to loud noise.
  • Use of hands and arms to reach for,grasp and manipulate objects is required.
  • Finger dexterity required forcomputer use.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to travelup to 10%
  • Regularly required to use oral communication skills;observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills;and interact with staff, other organizations and the public.
