Hampton Inn & Suites Carrboro is looking for its next Sales Coordinator. Hotel experience is required.

Job purpose

The role of the Sales Coordinator is to assist the Director of Sales in sales related duties for group, corporate and transient business. The Sales Coordinator is to also assist the Director of Sales in executing sales and marketing strategies through the Hilton Brand which will maximize hotel profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Operational Responsibilities

• Coordinate banquet room functions and related duties
• Perform hotel site tours with potential clients
• Enter group rooming lists and prepare keys for group arrivals
• Create Group Masters and Online booking links as needed
• Assist in the servicing of in-house groups from the sales office
• Maintain files and sales databases as per company standards
• Ensure efficient communication of group needs to hotel operations staff
• Follow-up on all special projects and assignments given
• Answer telephone and respond to caller inquiries in a pleasant manner
• Answer client / bookers questions about property facilities/services (e.g., hours of operation, rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants etc.)
• Gather materials and assemble information packages (e.g. brochures, promotional materials, sales demo kit, welcome kit, souvenir etc.)
• Understand and assess the critical needs of the hotel and construct sales activity to meet those needs
• Work alongside the Director of Sales in managing the hotels Sales efforts

Guest Relations

• Is proactive and demonstrates a sense of urgency when dealing with guest concerns.
• Is readily available and approachable to all guests.
• Interacts with guests on a frequent basis to obtain feedback about their experience.
• Anticipate the needs of large groups or high profile guests in order to deliver flawless service.

Team Interaction

• Encourage and build mutual respect and cooperation among team members.
• Nurture an environment that encourages empowerment, motivation, teamwork and a passion for providing excellent service.
• Participate in mandatory monthly Departmental meetings.
• Communicate effectively with all property team members.
• Respond in a timely manner to Department Heads requests and concerns.
• Is professional and courteous towards team members at all times.

Performs all other duties as requested by the Director of Sales and General Manager

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of previous hotel experience is required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Command of the English language, written and verbal
• Good vision, either natural or with corrective lenses
• Basic mathematical skills
• Able to perform several tasks simultaneously
• Must have good attendance and punctuality
• Able to work with computer based systems, PEP, Delphi, Excel and other systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
