We are looking for a part-time Guest Service Representative to serve as our guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodations.

Guest Service Representative responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates, amenities, as well as the surrounding areas including Mayo Clinic. Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.

Shifts are approximately 7:00am - 3:00pm and 3:00pm-11:00pm.

The Hampton Inn Rochester South is located on South Broadway, two miles South of downtown Rochester. We are looking for a Guest Service Representative to join our busy and professional team. Previous hotel experience is preferred, but not required. Representatives need to be able to demonstrate initiative and be someone who has the reputation for delivering great service and being fun to work with.

Guest Service Representative performs the various functions of hotel reception including; registration, guest accounting, telephone and concierge services to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests. Additionally, Guest Service Representatives contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, following safety rules, and assisting in emergency situations.

Essential Job Functions

• Attending to guest registration, room assignments, and special requests
• Coordinate with all hotel departments (i.e. housekeeping, maintenance, etc.)
• Manage guest information such as contact details, room types needed, dates of arrival and departure, and payment information
• Take, modify, and update room reservations
• Accurately record and process guest charges, credits, and payments
• Protect and securely handle all guest information
• Assist and respond to all guest inquires in person, phone, or email as appropriate
• Find win-win solutions in resolving guest concerns or complaints
• Deliver the Brand and Company promises

General Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have a professional, warm, and approachable disposition
• Fluently read, write, and speak English
• Demonstrate ability to remain level-headed in hectic and tense situations
• Problem solving and basic reasoning skills are required
• Must have mathematical ability and mental alertness

Work Environment & Other

• Job is performed at a hotel reception desk
• Communications skills are utilized a significant amount of the time when interacting with others; demonstrate ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
• Job requires the use of standard office equipment including computers, telephones, and photocopiers
• Frequent physical movement within the front office area of the hotel.
• Occasionally position oneself to stock supplies and attend to equipment located in lower cabinets and server rooms.
• Occasionally move or transport guest luggage or packages up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain a stationary position for extended periods of time at assigned workstation.
