Job Summary: The bartender is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers at an upscale casual dining restaurant. The bartender must be knowledgeable in the art of mixology and be able to create classic cocktails as well as innovative drinks that appeal to a wide range of customers. The bartender must also have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized bar area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome customers as they enter the bar area and take their orders for drinks. Mix and prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the customers' requests and the restaurant's standards.

Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking and restocking supplies, cleaning glasses, and wiping down the bar. Keep track of inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure that the bar is fully stocked.

Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in mixology and offer innovative drink ideas to customers. Ensure that customers are of legal drinking age and follow all applicable laws and regulations related to the service of alcohol.

Engage in conversation with customers to provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere. Work with other staff members, including servers and kitchen staff, to ensure that customers receive timely and efficient service.

Handle cash and credit card transactions and maintain accurate records of all transactions. Follow all safety and sanitation protocols, including the proper handling and storage of alcohol and bar equipment.

Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a bartender in an upscale casual dining restaurant.

Knowledge of mixology and the ability to create innovative drinks.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.

Familiarity with cash registers and credit card processing systems. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be of legal drinking age and have a valid license to serve alcohol.

Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, such as cases of alcohol and kegs. Must adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols and follow all applicable laws and regulations related to the service of alcohol.
