Hamilton Miller & Birthisel, a litigation defense firm, seeks several experienced paralegals with 3-5 years functioning in an insurance defense case/first party property capacity. HMB continues to grow so we are looking to fill various full-time positions with a potential hybrid work environment. There is room for YOU!
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and a great multitasker.• Knowledgeable with computer programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook• Ability to follow client billing guidelines, enter and record billing entries.• Knowledgeable in state & federal court rules• Prior trial experience is a plus.
Duties:
- Locate factual witnesses.• Draft witness and exhibit lists• Ensure that the case documents are accurately organized.• Identify and contact experts, prepare hearing and trial notebooks, and assist in trials.• Perform initial case investigations by gathering facts & records and drafting pleadings/discovery (interrogatories, request for production)
