Brief description

A Maintenance Supervisor manages maintenance needs inIdeal Market facilities. This employee will be responsible for trainingstaff and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. Anexcellent Maintenance Supervisor must be reliable, have a great eye for detailand must have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such ascarpentry, plumbing etc. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks suchas scheduling are also essential. The goal is to ensure that Ideal Marketfacilities are in a good and safe condition at all times of operations.

Tasks

Responsibilities:

·Inspect facilities periodically to determine problemsand schedule necessary maintenance

·Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocatework

·Recruit, supervise and train maintenance employees

·Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations,repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)

·Inspect and maintain building systems (heating,ventilation etc.)

·Contribute to the development of maintenance budgetand ensure compliance

·Monitor inventory of materials and equipment

·Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)

·Ensure adherence to quality standards and health andsafety regulations

·Responsible for the maintenance inventory andequipment. This means the Maintenance Supervisor keeps on hand the appropriatecleaning materials, safety gear, and tools for their staff. The MaintenanceSupervisor will reorder when necessary and ensure all equipment is in goodworking order and stored properly.

·A large portion of the maintenance supervisor’s daywill revolve around managing maintenance issues at Ideal Market stores

·Maintain weekly contact with all store managers toensure no additional maintenance is needed.

·Quarterly inspection for maintenance prevention.

·Responsible for purchasing all maintenance materials

Requirements Qualifications:

·Due to the nature of our business, this positionrequires flexibility in hours. This position is a full-time position requiringthe ability to work weekends, holidays, day or night shift

·Proven experience as maintenancesupervisor or similar role

·Retail/Grocery Experience

·Strong technical knowledge of allbuilding systems (electrical, heating etc.)

·Knowledge of health & safetypractices and regulations

·Understanding of budgeting andperformance management

·Excellent planning and leadershipabilities

·An eye for detail

·Computer savvy (Microsoft Word,Excel, Outlook, etc.)

·Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills

·Must be reliable and physicallyable to perform their duties
