Hamaspik of Rockland County - HCBS Department is Hiring a Part time Direct Support Professional (DSP) Near Tarrytown, NY
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated MALE part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with varying levels of neurodivergent and/or intellectual disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing mentoring assistance and support in daily living activities as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of clients and creating a positive and nurturing environment. DSPs assist individuals in becoming involved and connected within their community, providing tailored support based on their preferences.
This client has behavioral challenges and can become aggressive when communication becomes difficult.
This part-time role is located in Tarrytown, NY.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 4pm -6pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm
Skills:
- Mentor and assist clients in their daily living activities
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all clients and staff
- Build positive relationships with clients and staff
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for assisting those in need
- Possesses a friendly disposition with a positive "can do" attitude
- Ability to work independently and consistently exercise good judgment
Qualifications:
- Caregiving experience required
- Experience working with individuals with neurodivergent and/or intellectual disabilities preferred
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Required: Successful background check and fingerprinting
All Hamaspik of Rockland County DSPs are eligible for our employee referral program. If we end up hiring your referred candidate, you will receive $250 referral bonus after a hire period of 90 days.
