We are seeking passionate and dedicated part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with varying levels of neurodivergent and/or intellectual disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing mentoring assistance and support in daily living activities as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of clients and creating a positive and nurturing environment. DSPs assist individuals in becoming involved and connected within their community, providing tailored support based on their preferences.

The role is located in Montrose, NY.

The client is a high-functioning child who needs focused work on behavioral management.

Needs help in four key areas:

• How to recognize and label emotions as well as their cause
• Emotional regulation strategies such as deep breathing, positive self talk, etc
• Basic social norms, non verbal communication, how to empathize, etc - preferably in an open environment with other kids (like a park)
• Teach organization and planning skills

Must have a high school diploma and experience in behavioral management

Shifts available:

• Monday-Wednesday: 4pm-7pm

• Mentor and assist clients in their daily living activities
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all clients and staff
• Build positive relationships with clients and staff
• Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for assisting those in need
• Possesses a friendly disposition with a positive "can do" attitude
• Ability to work independently and consistently exercise good judgment

Qualifications:

• Caregiving experience required
• Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges requred
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Availability to work flexible hours
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

Required: Successful background check and fingerprinting
