Halo is Hiring a Remote Billing, Team Lead

Description

HALO is looking for a Billing, Team Lead who will act as liaison between department employees and the department supervisor/manager with focus on the Freight charge area, while providing hands-on front-line leadership on a daily basis. This person will also assist in the establishment of the Freight department guidelines and performance benchmarks, as well as the initiation of process and performance improvements leading to improved client billing efficiency and accuracy. 

Responsibilities

  • Field front-line questions from department employees and other HALO staff.
  • Monitor department workload requirements for all segments within Freight.
  • Run and monitor on a daily basis required departmental reports.
  • Oversee employee productivity reports and meet with each employee weekly to congratulate on accomplishments and review areas of improvement; advise supervisor/manager on any inconsistencies.
  • Update and maintain department/employee backlog on a daily basis.
  • Work with employees and management to develop process or system improvements.
  • Periodically review and suggest productivity goals based on business needs, current backlog, and previous average tasks per period. 
  • Develop departmental meeting agendas and minutes; facilitate department huddles.
  • Provide backup for FourGen and Lync/WebStar system modification testing; conducting and/or coordinating.
  • Provide employee performance feedback to supervisor/manager and participate in reviews.
  • Conduct/coordinate job training for employees new to the department.
  • Review and approve employee time-off requests, while coordinating and scheduling adequate department coverage.
  • Provide overtime recommendations to supervisor/manager and send emails to appropriate areas.
  • Participate in weekly department status meetings with supervisor/manager.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of on-the-job experience in the Billing and/or Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of freight charges and billing adjustments/discrepancies.
  • Ability to partner with all levels of manager within diverse areas of the organization.
  • Ability to consistently lead and monitor the work of other employees within the department.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Proficient in the Company’s proprietary systems (Lync/WebStar and FourGen).
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written formats, at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in order to work well under concrete deadlines.
  • Available to work overtime when required.
  • Possess and project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Able to advocate process enhancements and change.

Compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to HALO at the time of the posting and does not include any potential benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The estimated base salary range for this position is between $40,000 - $52,000 USD.
