Halff is Hiring a Construction Inspector Near Frisco, TX

Construction Inspector - Fort Worth, TX
Halff has an immediate opening for a Construction Inspector in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will bring construction experience with a focus on transportation working with, or for, public sector clients. This position will support the Chief Inspector by working with contractors to inspect, document and monitor activities to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and other contract provisions.
The successful candidate should have experience with the following:
  • Observing construction work for accuracy, proper work methods, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications;
  • Perform materials testing to ensure quality;
  • Managing work or coordinating tasks of moderate size and complexity,
  • Understanding contract documents and plans
  • Drafting daily work reports; sketches, measurements, photographs and calculations for each pay item
  • Understand Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements
  • Coordinate potential field conflicts with Chief Inspector
  • Review traffic control throughout the job site
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of inspection experience on TxDOT, or other DOT, projects
  • Have an understanding of construction standards and practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours
  • Must be a self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required
