Halff is Hiring an Attorney I Near Fort Worth, TX

Job Summary:
This Attorney will play a key role within Halff's legal and compliance department. This position requires a meticulous and detail-oriented graduate who has demonstrated strong academic success and an interest in the professional services arena (consulting engineering, land surveying, architecture, and construction). The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing legal guidance in line with Halff’s culture and risk tolerance to foster successful business relationships.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research an analysis on a variety of issues.
  • Draft legal documents, memoranda and correspondence.
  • Assist in Halff's effort to implement and utilize contract generation software to automate the contract lifecycle management process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on a variety of projects.
  • Draft, review and analyze a variety of contracts and provide reasoned feedback in line with Halff's risk tolerance and applicable compliance requirements under the direction of Halff's General Counsel.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties to negotiate favorable terms and conditions, balancing legal requirements with business objectives.
  • Stay current with relevant laws and regulations impacting professional services firms in general and more specifically the engineering consulting industry, providing insights and recommendations to the business units.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all contracts, amendments, and legal communications.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in the AEC industry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal software and tools.
Education, Experience and Licensure:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Plan to take and pass the bar exam in Texas or Oklahoma.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • May need to travel to various office locations.
