Environmental Scientist/Geologist

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist/Geologist to assist our clients across multiple disciplines with permitting and related technical support. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company to be involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of mining and industrial clients. This is a full-time position located in our Spokane, WA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Work with and support Client Leaders and other Project Managers on all aspects of environmental, natural resource, and related projects to address client goals and objectives; with primary focus on:
  • Contaminated site management projects 
  • Project siting, site resource surveys and characterization, including GIS and other data management and representation
  • Environmental assessment under NEPA and equivalent state environmental quality review regulations
  • Biological assessments and wetland delineations
  • Development of permit documentation, packages and submittals
  • Interaction with clients and regulatory agency staff to support the environmentally responsible and sustainable development or projects, while protecting resources consistent with regulation.
  • Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements, and will significantly contribute to building and maintaining trusted client relationships.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. degree in environmental science/engineering, biology, geology or related field (6 years of experience)
  • M.S. degree is strongly preferred
  • Experience with natural resources permitting.
  • Basic skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations
  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software (e.g. MS Office, ArcGIS, etc.)
  • Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail is expected
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to see projects through to completion are a must.
  • Periodic travel will be required to project, client, and/or agency locations

The estimated salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is $67,724.80 – 85,000.00 if annualized. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to ensure we are competitive in the current market. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary bonus program. This role may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus.
