Job Overview:

We are seeking a Warehouse Associate/Cashier to join our team.

TITLE Part-Time Warehouse Attendant/Cashier

CLASSIFICATION Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO Habitat Store Manager/Sales Floor Supervisor/Executive Director

(May receive work direction and guidance from Store Cashier, Store Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and/Sales Floor Supervisor or Executive Director)

DEFINITION

Hourly position that performs receiving, stocking, preparing and repairing inventory and other warehouse duties. Cashier open and close the till and store, checking out customers with purchase. Required to demonstrate basic knowledge of retail pricing, showroom organization, proper equipment handling, handling money and have customer serivce.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Capable of working with minimal supervision, be self motivated.
  • Maintain knowledge of store and warehouse inventory and demonstrate ability to determine need for replenishing and restock as necessary and showroom organization.
  • Capable of organizing merchandise in various display options.
  • Load and unload donated merchandise from truck. .
  • Coordinate or perform cleaning of donated items.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Effectively display merchandise in store in cooperation with Habitat Store Manager.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in the performance of essential job functions. Value teamwork.
  • Provide leadership by word and example.
  • Research pricing on-line or comparable retail outlets and price merchandise accordingly.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable items for receipt in accordance with Habitat for Humanity policies and demonstrate capability of refusing non-acceptable items in a generous manner.
  • Advise Habitat Store Manager on all matters concerning customer service and volunteer relations.
  • Interact positively with donors and volunteers and provide instruction or work direction as assigned.
  • Regular work attendance and punctuality.
  • Compliance with all policies and procedures set forth by Habitat for Humanity Tri Cities Store.

  • Lift 50 pounds.

  • Education and Experience -- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job function. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be one year experience in retail or warehouse merchandising and one year experience in moving household goods. Bilingual a plus.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - (The minimum amount of knowledge, ability, education, and experience required to be hired into the classification.)
