Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is Hiring an Equipment Supervisor Near OMAHA, NE

Description

Reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the skid loaders and telehandlers and backhoe. 

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Supervisor is responsible for inspecting and maintaining equipment; Identify issues, defects, or potential problems. Then coordinates and prioritizes repairs or replacements as needed. 

Trouble Shooting

When breakdowns or malfunctions occur, it’s the Equipment Supervisor’s responsibility to quickly diagnose the issue and coordinate repair to minimize downtime. 

Maintenance and Documentation

  • Equipment Supervisor will develop maintenance schedules and plans. 
  • Equipment Supervisor is deciding when and how to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to minimize disruptions to operations. 
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment, manual aids, and maintenance logs. 

Snow Removal

  • Snow removal of Midtown and Blue Stem properties. Midtown office and warehouse parking lot and Blue Stem streets. 
  • Responsible for the transportation of all equipment.
  • Lot preparation including but not limited to de-grubbing, trash removal, setting/pulling temporary power poles etc.
  • Perform regular daily logs of all activities performed. 
  • Operation of backhoe

Training and Competence 

  • Responsible for Training and certifying staff to operate equipment in a safe and professional manner. 
  • Backup for Facility Manager.
  • Backup for security badges and access to the building/warehouse.

General Expectations

  • Maintain good communication and professional relationships with HFHO staff, volunteers, program participants, neighbors and guests; 

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, use their hands to fingers, handle and maneuver or feel objects, tools or controls. They must reach with their hands and arms, climb, and/or balance their self; stool, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must be able to talk and hear.
  • The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Vision requirements are that the employee must see well, either naturally or with correction and must have good peripheral vision. The employee must be able to hear well either naturally or with correction.

Work Environment: 

  • The employee frequently works with and near heavy machinery/equipment;
  • Predominantly working outside with frequent exposure to hot, cold, wet, and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the working environment may be loud.
