We are currently seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Specialist to join our team.The successful candidate will be responsible for creating content for HFHKC, contributing to the development of print and digital materials and supporting the organization with creative writing needs. The Communications Specialist will create meaningful social media experience with HFHKC's external audiences. With the support of the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist will ensure that all communication pieces align with departmental and organizational goals, strategies, and direction.

Position Responsibilities:

• Listens, creates, and shares stories from Habitat Kent homebuyers, volunteers, donors, staff, and others through copy, photography, and/or video via digital channels and printed materials.
• Implements and tracks social media and digital campaigns.
• Writes, proofreads, and edits creative content across different promotional materials.
• Creates and maintains content for social media and website.
• Creates marketing pieces for programs.
• Creates materials for donor recognition and stewardship.
• Collaborates across departments to create written and visual materials to support meaningful connection with Habitat Kent’s mission.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field with 1 years of experience in marketing preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Suite preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail
• Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
• Experience using social media platforms at a professional level
• Ability to be a creative problem solver
• Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority
• Understands and values racial equity as an organizational operating principle and is committed to continued learning on issues related to race, equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
