Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of highway and interstate bridge design and repair projects
Direct and/or perform structural engineering calculations from preliminary to final design
Direct and/or develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
Responsible for post design construction support, including RFI responses and shop drawing reviews.
Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines and sub-consultants, Florida Department of Transportation, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
Train and mentor junior engineers
Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope
Qualifications
3-5 years of structural design experience required
Florida PE is required
BSCE is required, MSCE is a plus but not necessary
FDOT bridge design and plans production experience, which may include reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed concrete bridges, post-tensioned concrete substructure, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, box culverts, and sign and signal structures.
Proficient in structural design software that may include Leap Bridge, MDX, FB Multi-Pier, CSI Bridge, LARSA, STAAD, Atlas and FDOT Mathcad Structures Design Programs
Proficient in structural drafting utilizing MicroStation and OpenBridge Modeler is required
Experience with AutoCAD and 3D Modeling utilizing OpenBridge Modeler is desired
Experience in engineering projects to be able to analyze project progress to be in conformance with project budgets, quality, scope of work, client, and sub-consultant issues is desired

Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
