Requirements:
This role will be a Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor or Manager
Plans, reviews, and assigns work of construction field office personnel including Lochner staff, sub-consultants and partners
Supervises a team of inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance
Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues
Read and Interpret complex contract plans and specifications
Read and interpret construction contract language
Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule
Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals
Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve
Leads construction meetings with clients and contractors
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor or Transportation Construction Manager on road and bridge infrastructure required, PennDOT projects is preferred.
Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects
Requires progressive work-related experience
Work requires ability to gather and understand technical data for purposes of generating advanced technical reports
Requires advanced knowledge of construction practices and principles
Must be able to interpret plans, standards, and specifications.
Good understanding of construction specifications and plans.
Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Must have a working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Knowledge of PennDOT or PTC specification and standards is required.
Ability to effectively lead a team of inspectors.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Preferred Certifications:
NICET Level 3 or Higher in Highway Construction
NECEPT Bituminous
NECEPT Concrete
