This position can be full time or part time (30 hours) per week. This is NOT a remote position.
Responsibilities
Produces drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering roadway and structure designs using computer-aided drafting software.
Working on transportation related projects such as: roadway, bridge, railroad, and traffic.
This position will serve as the clearinghouse for office CAD standards and procedures and will be responsible for updating the staff of any changes with client standards.
Experience should be diverse and include a wide range of projects for DOT or other related transportation clients.
Qualifications:
Associate or technical school degree
2 years of experience drafting/designing transportation systems
Experience with ConnDOT projects and procedures preferred
Must be proficient in Microstation and Autocad
Must be proficient in plan production in Bentley and AutoDesk programs (Open Roads, Open Bridge, Civil 3D) along with file management skills
Must be a team player; self-starter with good communication skills
Have ability to mentor/train junior CADD staff

Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
