Responsibilities

Associate Brokers support Broker(s) with all job functions to learn the industry, business, and job responsibilities necessary for future growth as a Broker.

The Associate Broker markets, identifies, solicits, and arranges appropriate insurance coverage for clients by utilizing accessible markets, and serves as in intermediary between the Retailer and the Insurance Company.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop, maintain and cultivate excellent client and agent relationships
  • Promote new business and / or renewal business to achieve production / market criteria as defined by Broker with little or no supervision Evaluate business or individual customers’ needs and financial status and propose protection plans that meet their criteria
  • Market and broker Burns & Wilcox Brokerage ( BWB ) products and services
  • Negotiate the best terms and coverages available with accessible markets
  • Prepare submissions for markets and secure quotes
  • Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist broker with meeting or exceeding production goals as assigned by BWB
  • Maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry and sales ideas through regular attendance at workshops, seminars, literature reviews and / or formal continuing education
  • Take initiative to complete assignments independently

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in wholesale brokerage or underwriting
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication, negotiations and problem solving skills
  • Solid coverage, terms, conditions, and pricing knowledge with management, professional or cyber liability
  • Current knowledge of markets and industry issues related to management, professional, or cyber liability
  • Maintain necessary licenses to produce business
