Role Overview:

The corporate assistant controller oversees the accounting and financial reporting functions of an alternative investment firm's management company. The corporate assistant controller works closely with the corporate controller, and the fund accounting team to ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements. The corporate assistant controller also supports analysis of the management company's operations.

Role Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the management company and its subsidiaries
• Coordinate and manage the external audit and tax preparation processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory standards and policies
• Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with the preparation and review of the management company's budget and forecast
• Analyze and report on the management company's financial performance and variances
• Support the fund accounting team with fund-related transactions and reporting
• Manage and mentor the accounting staff and provide guidance and training
• Perform ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the corporate controller

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA certification or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting and 3 years supervising experience, preferably in the private equity or asset management industry
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
