POSITION SUMMARY: The Recreation Assistant (A-Team) participates in the set-up, execution, and clean-up of all outdoor camp activities, to include lifeguarding, high ropes, mountain biking, and target sports. The intern will contribute to LLYC’s ministry through helping organize fun, challenging, and memorable outdoor experiences which lead to conversation, leadership, and relationship development.
LLYC MISSION: LLYC offers campers a blend of high-energy recreation, wild adventures, peaceful renewal, and meaningful community. Campers are always encouraged to be themselves, develop deep friendships with their peers and counselors, explore faith in Christ, and encounter God.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Encourage and lead campers in participating in outdoor recreation activities
- Train campers on safety and the proper use of equipment or participating in an activity
- Monitor and ensure that campers are following safety measures when participating
- Facilitate individual cabin activities
- Responsible for set-up, execution, and clean-up of activities
- Oversee inventory of equipment needed to participate in activities
- Assemble, inspect, and maintain equipment to ensure functionality
- Disassemble and store equipment when not being utilized
- Participate in spiritually driven sharing groups, discussions, and Bible study
- Strong communication skills
- Possess a high level of personal concern and service
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate
- Perseverance and willingness to spend long hours outdoor

- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to participate in physical activities that require long periods of time outdoor
